Shannon here: I’m gonna go all fan girl here, so stick with me. Back in 2005, I was in hot pursuit of publication. A writer friend loaned me several Love Inspired books. One was by Lenora Worth. I gobbled it up and couldn’t wait for the next one. That fall, I attended my first national American Christian Fiction Writers Conference. On day two, I sat down at a table for breakfast. This pretty blond walked up and asked if she could sit by me. I said sure. She stuck out her hand and said, “Hi, I’m Lenora Worth.” My jaw hit the table and I almost swallowed my tongue. I babbled about how I’d read her book, but couldn’t come up with the title or what it was about.
Since then, at every conference I’ve attended, Lenora has always greeted me and remembered my name. When I was still struggling, she encouraged. When I placed in a contest, she applauded. When I finally got published, she congratulated. And when I started writing for Love Inspired, she welcomed me. I’m so excited to have Lenora on my blog, I almost swallowed my tongue again. Comment or answer the question at the end of the post to enter the drawing for a copy of Terri Reed’s Guardian – book 1 in the series. Here’s Lenora:
- What is the most romantic thing your spouse has ever done for you?
Once when I had to have a minor surgical procedure right before Christmas, when my husband came to pick me up he had a CD ready to play in the car. It was an Aaron Neville Christmas album with one of my favorite Christmas song on it: The Eagles–Please Come Home for Christmas. It was so sweet and I was still woozy from medication, that I burst into tears. Happy tears, of course.
- How soon after meeting your spouse did you know he was the one?
We met early, when we were around five or six. My sister and her husband lived in a cottage in his grandparent’s backyard so we played together in a kiddie pool. He moved away but came back in high school and I saw him walking across the campus and told my best friend, “That’s the man I’m gonna marry.” We’d known each other a long time, off and on. Now it’s been on for forty-two years!

A friend set us up on a blind date at her house to play cards! was together 10 years before he cheated and we divorced
That’s a cute setup.
I met my hubby in church when I was was married and had two children through his sister. My marriage was abusive and after 18 years I left with my kids and moved 900 miles away to my sisters. Twenty years later my hubby found me on FB and we will be married 4 years tomorrow.
Lenora, I knew we were kindred spirits. We both love shoes. And I met my husband at my grandmothers when we were kids. We don’t specifically remember each other, but we both remember a bunch of kids being there and playing the same games. When I was fourteen, he came to my school. I saw him walking across the campus and thought, that’s the man I’ll marry. I did five years later and we’ve been married 33 years.
We were each starting work at a law firm, and the partner was delayed because the BART train was stuck under the Bay. He was reading a newspaper and we started talking about the Middle East
I met my person during graduate school. At that time we were both dating different people. Funny how things work out 😉
I love the action in romantic suspense and love trying to figure out who the bad guy is.
I met my husband at church. My dad was a pastor, and he was called to pastor the church of which my husband and his mom were members. We have been married for 60 years! 😊
I love reading romantic suspense. It usually gets to be really interesting reading about all the twist and turns they go through before the end of the book. Thanks for this giveaway.
I have a winner! Cheryl D. won the drawing. I appreciate Lenora for being my guest and everyone else for stopping by.
