THE MOMENT
Life is made up of moments. Happy, sad, and everything in between. Most of the moments are forgettable, but a precious few become etched in our memories. Those moments have the power to not only transport us back but to make us feel all those wonderful emotions again as if they are happening right now.
One such moment for me was the moment I fell in love with my husband. Yes, love grows slowly and surely through the good times and the bad, but for me there was one moment when I knew this was the man I would spend the rest of my life with.
A little background before I get to the moment. I’ve known my husband all my life—his family and my family are connected through several marriages as well as he lived beside my aunt. As a young dreamy teen-age girl I was sure he was the one, but life took us in different directions.
After years apart, bad marriages for both of us, and lots of bad decisions on my part, we reconnected. My theme song at that time was “GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN.”
I didn’t want a serious relationship—with anyone. I was looking for good times and fun, nothing else.
My now husband wears a cross necklace and as far as I know he always has since his mother died when he was sixteen. I remember him wearing it when we dated as teens—not the same one, of course. I don’t want to put words in his mouth but… I believe that cross necklace symbolizes his connection with God as well as with his mother.
One night he told me he had a gift for me. I love gifts, but I didn’t know that would be THE MOMENT. He handed me a small box. I opened it and there it was.
A cross necklace that matched his own.
And in that moment, a connection blossomed between the two of us. And in that moment, my theme song went from “girls just want to have fun” to I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU.
That simple cross necklace probably didn’t cost more than ten dollars, but it enriched my life in more ways than I have time to tell.

About the book – The Christmas Stalking:
Overzealous fan or crazed stalker?
Country music superstar Destiny appears to have it all. Beauty, money, and fame. But it’s not all glitz and glamour. Being a celebrity comes with a price—loneliness, and now threats from an unknown stalker.
With Christmas approaching, and as the danger escalates in Nashville, Destiny has no choice but to disappear. She escapes to her grandparents’ cabin in the Adirondack Mountains near the tiny Village of Serenity & Peace. It seems to be the perfect choice for a hideout. Longing for the serenity and peace she experienced there as a child, Destiny sheds her celebrity persona and resumes her long-forgotten identity as Holly Stone.
