A Little Scary with Your Kiss? By Linda S. Glaz
Okay, I love scary. So it was an easy write to tell the romantic suspense novel about Rochelle Cassidy and Ed McGrath.
A conservative talk show host and a hockey player? That’s a combination for disaster!
After finding Rochelle being attacked in a virtually empty parking structure, Ed McGrath discovers a side of himself he didn’t know existed.
Suddenly, a good woman looks better than the type of girls who have been chasing his celebrity for years. After all, he is known as Detroit’s Most Eligible Bachelor.
But Rochelle tells him she’s not interested in a relationship. Until…there always has to be an until, correct? Until she can’t identify who the attacker might be. A disgruntled listener? A councilman furious over her snooping into his expense accounts? A doctor with a goal for a super race? A nurse who disagrees with her conservative opinions? So many would like to see her quieted, but who wants it enough to pursue seeing her dead?
Rochelle is smart, sassy, fun, and for the second time in her life, truly afraid.
Ed is famous with a past dogging him that keeps Rochelle far away. Can he convince her he’s changed his ways, or will he have to prove it as the stalker draws within a breath of her?
Well, I’d tell you more, but I don’t want to give away the heart-stopping finish.
My youngest daughter has some head shots with “attitude”. I mentally used the one above for my character, so I used a photo shoot she was kind enough to do for me with a lot of my promotion material. And the publisher found a girl that fit perfectly.
Will I stop my suspense fanaticism with Fear is Louder Than Words? When you read the last page will I be finished trying to scare you? NO!
Not at all.
Next December, my new release, Blow Out the Candles and Say Good-bye, will take you on another journey fueled by fear, fed with love. Will Brandy Barrett be able to find the kidnappers who snatched her little sister from a birthday sleepover thirteen years earlier before they can whisk away another house full of children? Or will her father, Joe, and his new love, Karen, convince her it’s time to move on?
It’s Christmastime and trusting parents are allowing their youngsters to spend the night celebrating a gingerbread fantasy sleepover. Willing parents are being giving the prime opportunity to shop on their own without little ones to worry over.
But they should be worried…
They should really be worried.
Whether it’s Ed and Rochelle, Brandy and Jeff, or Joe and Karen, I love a good dose of suspense with my romances. I hope you do, too.
About Linda: I’m a wife and mother of three…and grandmother of three. I balance being a child of God while also being older than God. Hmmm, scary, but almost true. I’ve been blessed to have had an amazing life so far: Air Force meteorologist during Vietnam era, teaching karate and self-defense along with soccer for 25+ years. I sing and direct in church and community theatre musicals where this little old lady sounds more like the guys than the gals. Also scary, but true. My writing life is a 24/7 proposition. As well as writing my own stories, I am an agent for Hartline Literary Agency. I also speak at conferences, churches, ladies’ teas, you get the picture. I have a big mouth and love to share words on writing. I wear so many different hats I’m surprised I wasn’t invited to the Royal wedding. Blessings to everyone, may your writing dreams all come true.
About the book – Fear is Louder than Words: Rochelle Cassidy has the perfect life as a radio talk show host in the Detroit market, but her celebrity status doesn’t stop an angry listener from wanting her … dead. Ed McGrath’s ideal life as a pro-hockey player doesn’t include a damsel in distress until the night he discovers Rochelle being attacked in a deserted parking structure.
Circumstances throw them together in more ways than one when Rochelle’s producer plays matchmaker. A sick boy, a corrupt politician, and questionable medical practices put more than merely Rochelle in danger, and still, her attacker shadows her every step.
Will Ed be able to break through her trust issues in order to protect her, or will she continue to see him as Detroit’s bad boy athlete? Her life AND his depend on it.
Question for Readers: Do parking garages give you the creeps? Why or why not?
Come back Dec 19th for Donna Schlachter!
yes, because the are dark and spooky
Hahaha. I agree, Shelia, I love dark and spooky! So fun to have that thrill and know I’m sitting in my home safe and sound.
Is there a setting you’d like to see a suspense story written around?
I was up most of the night with my Mom who was admitted to the hospital. I was so tired that someone could have knocked me over the head and I wouldn’t have felt a thing.
I enjoy reading Agatha Christie novels. So the setting I would like to see a suspense story would be a small English town.
Thanks for entering me in your giveaway.

Yes! Several years ago my daughter, a friend, and I went shopping in a large mall and parked in a parking garage. When we were going to our car we saw a group of young men that were lurking in the ramp. Don’t know if we had a need to be afraid but we were never so glad to get to our car!!!
I have a winner! Becky won the drawing. I appreciate Linda for being my guest and everyone else for stopping by.
