Amanda Cabot’s Wild West Chowder
Are you looking for a way to use up the left-over turkey? If so, you might enjoy this easy-to-fix chowder.
Combine and heat thoroughly:
1 29-ounce can sweet potatoes, drained and mashed
1 cup water
1 tbsp taco seasoning (or more, if you prefer spicier foods)
2 cups milk
1 15-oz can corn, drained
2 cups cooked turkey, diced
Serves 6
For a vegetarian alternative, substitute a can of pinto beans, drained and rinsed, for the turkey.
About Amanda: From the time that she was seven, Amanda Cabot dreamed of becoming a published author, but it was only when she set herself the goal of selling a book by her thirtieth birthday that the dream came true. A former director of Information Technology, Amanda has written everything from technical books and articles for IT professionals to mysteries for teenagers and romances for all ages. She’s delighted to now be a fulltime writer of Christian historical romances. Her Texas Dreams trilogy received critical acclaim, and Christmas Roses, her first stand-alone story, was just released.
About the book – Christmas Roses: Celia Anderson doesn’t need anything for Christmas except a few more boarders, which are hard to come by in this small mining town. She certainly doesn’t have a husband on her Christmas wish list. But when a wandering carpenter finds lodging at her boarding house, she admits that she might remarry if she found the right man–the kind of man who would bring her roses for Christmas. It would take a miracle to get roses during a harsh Wyoming winter. But Christmas, after all, is the time for miracles . . .
Come back Nov 9th for K Dawn Byrd!
I’ll have to try the recipe! Thanks for including a vegetarian alternative. 🙂 Christmas Roses sounds good! Love the book cover!
I would buy this book on the cover alone! I love it. It would look wonderful on my coffee table!
I sense a romance is in the air. Roses at Christmas? I need to find out if a miracle does indeed take place.
I would love to win a copy of Christmas Roses.
Blessings!

I just finished your book Christmas Roses. It may have been a short book, but it was packed with all the ingrediance of an excellent book: It moved along very well; it had a Christian theme; romance; a mystery; and most of all a loving ending. I enjoyed your book very much.
