- Do you and your spouse have a favorite romantic restaurant?
Yes, our house! My hubby is a fantastic cook and loves to experiment with new dishes. Though I can cook, I don’t particularly enjoy it. But I do enjoy letting him cook and eating his experiments! 🙂 On a side note–just to show you how pragmatic we both are–one year for Christmas he bought me a food processor. That same year for Christmas I bought him a lawn mower. Guess who used the food processor the most? And I used the lawn mower! 🙂
- Do you and your spouse have a favorite song?
Since we’re both musicians and composers we have lots of favorite songs, but I’d have to say that my personal favorites are “The Gift,” a song we wrote and sang at our wedding ceremony, and “This Road Leads Home,” a song hubby wrote for my first book, Texas Roads. You can listen to the last song at this link: https://www.reverbnation.com/travisandcathybryant (you’ll have to click on the play button for “This Road Leads Home”)
- Do you and your spouse have a favorite romantic vacation destination?
Our absolute favorite when it comes to romantic vacation destinations is Mexico Beach, Florida. For us, our favorite spots are those that are uncrowded and relaxing. Mexico Beach has the powdery white sand and turquoise waters like Destin, but has sea turtles and only one high rise. We stay at a quiet Victorian-like inn that’s right on the beach.
- What simple gesture does your spouse do that melts you every time?
I spend big chunks of time behind a computer, especially when I’m writing, editing, or launching a book. Hubby is the cook in our family, and he always does an excellent job of bringing me food during busy times. (I guess he knows that I’d dry up and blow away otherwise!)
- How soon after meeting your spouse did you know he/she was the one?
Our story is unusual in the fact that we were really great friends for three years before we started dating. We were both music majors and traveled together with the Wayland Baptist University Marching and Symphonic Bands, so we did spend lots of time together. When we started dating, it didn’t take long for either one of us to know this was it. We were engaged about six weeks after we started dating, and got married seven months later.
- Where did you and your spouse go for your honeymoon?
We were poor college students when we married, so we spent our honeymoon week working in the bookstore at Glorieta Baptist Conference Center. But to show you how romantic my hubby is, nine years later he surprised me with a late honeymoon trip to Jamaica. That’s still one of the favorite highlights of my life!
