Shannon here: Earlier in the month, my husband and I attended our church association’s annual pastor appreciation dinner. Our missions director’s wife always has a gift for each pastor and his wife. This year it was Christmas Blessings Mix. I’ve received lots of gifts in a jar over the years–cookie mix, brownie mix, and soup mix. But never anything like this. I decided to share it with my blog readers in case anyone needs a last minute, easy gift. Comment or answer the question at the end of the post to enter the drawing for winner’s choice from three of Linda Wood Rondeau’s Christmas titles or my January release, Rodeo Family. Two winners will receive one book each. Deadline: Jan 3rd, 11:59 pm central time.
Christmas Blessings Mix
Bugles: Bring us the joyful message of the Heavenly Host announcing peace on earth, good will to men.
Pretzels: Symbol of a mother’s loving arms; as Mary wrapped her Son in swaddling clothes and laid him in the manger.
Red Hots: Red berries that decorate the holly plant, a reminder of eternal life and Christ’s redemption.
Nuts or Seeds: Promise of a future harvest, one we will reap only if seeds are planted and tended with diligence.
Dried Fruits: Reminder of the gifts brought by the Wise Men.
M&Ms: Cherished memories of those who came before us to guide us to a blessed future.
Hershey’s Kiss: The love of family and friends that sweetens our lives.
Mix ingredients and pour in a jar. Type the above on a festive card and attach with a ribbon.
Question: What’s your favorite gift in a jar you ever received?
I’m taking off the rest of the week.
Be sure to come back Jan 2nd for Sherry Kyle!

What a lovely way to remind us of the perfect gift of the Son from God the Father. I recently received a homemade cajun spice mix in a jar and it is great on pork, beef or foul. I will spice up my turkey this Christmas.

This is different from any mix I have ever seen. I will be making it for gifts and I will also be sending the recipe to my daughter in law who is the children pastor in her church.

I still haven’t tried it. Afraid my jar will break. I have also received Cocoa mix and muffin mix. would love to be a winner. Thanks for a chance. Maxie > mac262(at)me(dot)com <
