Interview with Wallace Tuttle – hero from Hidden Dreams:
- Are you open to your own romance?
I’m open, I suppose, but I’m not actively looking. My sister says I keep my nose stuck inside my sketchpad too much to notice anything else.
- What’s the number one quality you’d require in a mate?
Besides being a Christian? I want her to care about animals, about the threat of extinction of some of them, like the passenger pigeon.
- What’s the number two quality you’d require in a mate?
She should be intelligent and well-educated.
- Where is the best place you can think of to find a mate?
I don’t know. I’ve been to college and didn’t meet anyone there. There are very few single women at my church. God will have to make someone cross my path, I suppose.
- Where is the worst place you can think of to find a mate?
I would never want to marry someone who’s attracted to the whole flapper, speakeasy lifestyle.
- Where do you dream of getting married?
I don’t dream about getting married here. But for generations—all the way back to the Revolutionary War—couples in my family have carved their initials on the same board that hangs on a covered bridge near my family farm. One day I hope to add my initials with my fiancés to that board.
- Where do you dream of spending your honeymoon?
I’ve heard of new parks out in California that have ancient redwood trees. I’d love to take my bride there.
- Where do you dream of celebrating your wedding anniversary?
I kind of think the cabin where I’ve been living this summer would be a good place to come to. My ancestor loved and lived in this place—I’d like to add my own memories.
- If you could order a carbon copy of an actor or actress with the perfect character traits and beliefs for your mate, who would it be?
FlorenceLawrence. They call her “the first movie star.”
- What would be the best gift a potential mate could buy for you?
A year’s worth of sketchpads and lead pencils in every grade available.

About the book – Hidden Dreams: MARY ANNE IS ON THE RUN.
Her father’s been murdered, and now the mob’s after her, too. Leaving New York City behind is the only way to stay alive. Yet Mary Anne Lamont finds herself stuck in Maple Notch, Vermont, when her car crashes straight into Wallace Tuttle’s truck. Wallace and his family offer her warmth and welcome, no questions asked. But she doesn’t dare give them her real name-not without risking their safety too.
At first, Wallace chides himself for being distracted by the glamorous flapper. Mary Anne certainly doesn’t fit his image of a future wife. But underneath the bleached bob and big-city ways is a courageous, caring woman. When the danger she’s been running from draws close, Wallace must risk everything to prove his faith in Mary Anne, in God’s plan, and the dreams they’ve come to share.
Come back April 10th for Teresa Pollard!

I love the cover of this book! Last year as I traveled the roads of South Western Ontario, Canada I toured seven barn quilt trails and enjoyed seeing the many barns. They are becoming something of the past! This book sounds interesting! Darlene Franklin is a wonderful author! God bless all our Christian authors!
