Shannon here: Romantic Suspense author, Deborah M. Piccurelli shares insight into her real life romance plus a chance to win her latest release, Hush Little Baby. Answer the question at the end of the post to enter the drawing. Deadline: Sept 6th, 11:59 pm central time. Here’s Deborah:
1. What’s the most romantic thing your spouse has ever done for you?
I know this doesn’t really sound romantic, but to me it was. My hubby came home and heated up some canned soup for me for dinner when I was sick in bed. This was after we had been married only a couple years and hadn’t had any children, yet. It was significant to me because he never had to go near the stove and make anything for himself since he lived with his parents before we married.
2. Do you and your spouse have a favorite romantic restaurant?
Again, not really romantic, but we really like Olive Garden and eat there frequently.
3. What’s the most romantic present your spouse ever bought for you?
This is a biggie. When we were coming up on our 33rd wedding anniversary, he said he’d been wanting to buy me a new ring with a bigger diamond in it. (We were at Olive Garden, when he said this.) I said no, that the one I had was just fine. He looked so disappointed that I said let’s just go look, figuring we’d do that and leave without buying anything. To my own surprise, I did let him buy something that day, but when we got home with it, he decided it wasn’t big enough, so a few days later, we went back to exchange it for a bigger one. Then about a week later, he wanted to go exchange it for a bigger one, yet. I put a stop to it right there. LOL!
4. How soon after meeting your spouse did you know he/she was the one?
Since we worked at the same place, we knew each other and were friends for about 6 months before dating. About a month after that we both knew we’d get married.
5. Who said, “I love you” first, you or your spouse?
No matter how much I may have wanted to just blurt it out, I made myself wait until he said it first. Back then, it’s what most girls did.

Sorry for your loss, Shelia.
My mom always took care of me before I married. Now when I’m sick, I’m usually home alone. But when my husband and son are home, they’re both good about waiting on me.
