What’s the most romantic thing your hero ever did for your heroine?
That would be their wedding at the end of the book. Tate and Meghan are both very unconventional, and he managed to find a way to heal a part of her past while working their own out-of-the-box relationship and family into what has become one of my favorite scenes. He really shows his heart to her and appreciates the way she views the world.
- How soon after meeting the hero did the heroine know he was the one?
Tate and Meghan were on a team together in a Special Missions Unit in the US Army. They’d worked together for years—traveling the world, surviving danger, bringing down the bad guys—when one day, Meghan realized she was in love with her teammate. Something about the way they seemed to talk to one another so openly and read each other’s thoughts had morphed into more for her. On the basis of some bad advice, she left him behind, thinking her emotions would only put him in danger if they wound up in a bad situation on a mission one day.
- How soon after meeting the heroine did the hero know she was the one?
When Meghan took off without even telling Tate goodbye, he was cut by her absence. He’d thought she was his best friend. Fast forward a few years, when he’s undercover and runs into Meghan on an op, they are forced to work together again. It’s not long before he realizes how much a part of him she always was and how much he loves this woman who seems to complete him in every way.
- Who is most romantic, your hero or your heroine?
Tate for sure. Meghan was never wired to be a romantic. Her home life wasn’t conducive to her seeing a healthy relationship happen. Tate has this way about him where he notices everything and catalogs it, especially when it comes to Meghan. He instinctively knows how to give her what she needs in any given moment, and there’s a part of him that loves surprising her and making her see just how much he loves her and would do for her. That attention to detail and open heart in him, the way he learns to love her without holding any part of his heart back just knocks me off my feet.
- What is the most caring thing your hero has ever done for your heroine?
When she gets into deep trouble, he stands up for her with his superiors, even considers helping her make an escape. He knows her so well and loves her so much, he knows she’s not capable of what she’s been accused of, and he’ll do anything to make sure she’s safe
- If you hero and heroine end up married, where will they go on their honeymoon?
Whenever they were on the far side of the world on a mission, if time allowed, they’d be in the wilderness together, hiking or mountain climbing. Tate would take Meghan away somewhere where it’s just them and the wilderness, where they can use their tactical training in a way that’s fun and relaxing and that lets them just be together.

Question for Readers: What’s your favorite outdoor activity?
Come back Nov 14th for Jodie’s romantic excerpt!
camping and walking
Picnics & target practice!
walking, especially at the beach and picnics
I like to work in my vegetable garden.
Walking with my iPod
I like to just sit outside in the back yard and enjoy God’s creation! I am not able to hike or do much walking but I still enjoy the outdoors. Thanks for this giveaway and interview. I’m looking forward to reading this book!
Some awesome ideas here! The target practice one piqued my interest. I told my husband that–after writing a scene for my next book where the hero is using her bow and arrow–I think I want to learn archery. Thanks for reminding me of that!
And a walk on the beach? Yes, please!
I love walking. Especially in the fall through a trail in the woods. I like to play badminton and watch kids play baseball.
