Shannon, thanks for having us on your blog. Madison Mitchell requested to be interviewed today. She’s the heroine of book 4 of June’s Cranberry Cove series. The reader can find her story in A Home in Cranberry Cove and see if she moves out of her small apartment into the lovely home on the cover of the book.
- What is your heroine’s favorite romantic vacation destination?
All my life I’ve dreamed of visiting Bora Bora in French Polynesia. So, when I heard that Juliette Duplay went to Papeete in French Polynesia on her honeymoon, I knew I wanted to go to Bora Bora. I’ll tell you a secret in case you don’t already know. Last Valentine’s Day, Juliette married the man I loved. To make things worse, I found myself in a miserable marriage at the same time.
- What simple gesture does your hero do that melts your heroine every time?
Merely thinking about Micah’s protective nature toward me makes my knees weak. You see, we faced some frightening circumstances in our story, A Home in Cranberry Cove. Micah, my hero, cared more about me than he did about himself. A couple of times, an adversary confronted us in a dangerous encounter. Micah stepped in front of me to protect me with his body.
- Who said, “I love you” first, your hero or your heroine?
My hero, Dr. Micah Collins, said I love you first. To make the day even more romantic, he spoke of our future child. If he was a boy, Micah would teach him to fish or hike. If our baby was a girl, he’d take her to father-daughter events and teach her how to ride a bike. The memory curls my toes.
- Where is the most romantic place your hero and heroine have ever been?
One Sunday afternoon, Micah took me to the city park. The sun shone, bees bumbled among flowering plants, and a dragonfly explored a patch of water lilies gracing the surface of a nearby pond. Micah and I sat on a log dangling our toes in the cool water for hours.
- Do your hero and heroine have a favorite romantic restaurant?
Yes. No other restaurant in Cranberry Cove can brag of delicious gourmet food as the one at The Inn at Cranberry Cove. One evening, Micah and I lingered over delightful French cuisine for hours. The most important aspect of the experience was that night Micah revealed a secret I never dreamed he’d tell me.
- How soon after meeting the hero did the heroine know he was the one?
I didn’t realize Micah was the one for me right away. This had nothing to do with Micah but about myself. I’d suffered a difficult divorce and never wanted to fall in love and certainly not marriage ever again. But Micah’s masculine charms and Christian spirit won me over.
Question for Readers: I love gourmet food, but feel guilty about paying so much money when I could cook at home for less. What is your opinion of gourmet restaurants?

I wouldn’t call it gourmet but I love sushi 🙂
I’d like to visit Bora Bora too!
June Foster says
Natalya, I wish I’d developed a taste for sushi but I didn’t. Once I ate seaweed and someone said that is what is in sushi. I haven’t been able to bring myself to eat it. I’m so glad you do like it. I’d love to go to Bora Bora as well. That’s the fun part about writing, I can send characters to places I want to go. 🤣
Jennifer Hibdon says
I love to cook and eat…I do not like dishes!!!!! Japanese steakhouses and hibachi grills are my favorite restaurants. German, if I can ever find them, are a close second!!! I love to travel, so ethnic restaurants are a way indulge that love. Thanx for the giveaway!!!
