What was the Most Romantic Thing Your Spouse Has Ever Done for You?
Hello, my name is Katy Lee. I write Inspirational Romantic Suspense stories for Love Inspired Suspense, but writing is relatively a new profession for me. I have always been a reader, but writing wasn’t something I tried my hand at until a few years ago. But we’re not here to talk about my writing career. We’re here to talk about my real-life romance with my husband. Except, my writing does have a something to do with the most romantic thing my spouse has done for me.
Over seventeen years ago Bill and I tied the knot in a beautiful old meeting house. I was a teacher at the time, and we were excited to start our lives together. Now years later, I will be the first to admit I am not the same person he married that long ago night. Becoming a writer meant a lot of changes in the dynamic of our marriage and in our home. My decision to take this path affected everyone. For me, I had found my calling, but in following that calling, I could have very well left my husband behind. Long hours isolated at my desk meant a closed door between us that was never there before. How would he respond?
Hurt, angry, confused…just to name a few.
But thankfully, only for a little while.
The most romantic thing my husband has ever done for me was to make the decision to get to know his wife all over again. A lot of spouses might say, “You’re the not the person I married” and throw in the towel. But Bill did not. He made the choice to learn about this writing thing his wife was getting into. He looked for ways he might be able to help me. He’s not a reader, but he’s great with the business side of things. He’s a great asset to have, and I would have never known this about him if he hadn’t made the decision to get to know his new wife, the writer. I love him so much more for it.
Question for Readers: Love is a choice. Is there one thing you could choose to do for a loved one to show them you love them? Would you be willing to share to encourage others?

About the book – Permanent Vacancy:
When Gretchen Bauer begins renovating an old Victorian house to turn it into a bed-and-breakfast, she barely escapes several dangerous “accidents” at her home. Colm McCrae, host of the home improvement TV show helping her renovate, refuses to believe these aren’t on purpose. Could this be a harmful ploy by his boss to boost ratings? Yet with Colm’s smooth-talking Irish brogue, Gretchen wonders whether he could be involved. But with a whole town full of neighbors disgruntled about the inn bringing strangers to their shores, Gretchen has a list of more likely suspects. Now she must trust Colm if she wants to keep her new business venture from turning into a five-star death trap.
