Shannon here: For part 2 of Kimberley Woodhouse’s love story, we’re switching to fictional romance as she shares with us how her hero and heroine meet:
Cole and Jenna (from NO SAFE HAVEN releasing from B&H Publishers March 2011) met on a cool, April day in Alaska when Cole asked to be an extra passenger on Jenna’s small plane.
Jenna Tikaani-Gray is trying to put her life back together after a tragic accident took her husband, Marc, just a few days after her daughter, Andie, underwent brain decompression surgery. A year later, Jenna and Andie are going home to start fresh and dream anew. Andie’s latest checkup was a huge success, and Jenna’s heart soars with the news. But before they reach their destination, the stranger on their plane causes a ruckus and they find themselves crashing into Sultana, one of Alaska’s most dangerous mountains.
Cole Maddox has sworn to protect Marc’s family, but is hardened by the loss in his own life. To survive the Alaskan wilderness, it will take everything within him as Jenna and Andie break through the walls surrounding his heart. As they all try to stay alive, they are pursued by armed men and secrets from the past.
Jenna and Cole must learn to trust and open up their hearts to love once again.
About the book: Jenna Tikaani-Gray and her twelve-year-old daughter, Andrea, are on their way home, hoping for a fresh start after a lifetime of medical trials and great sorrow. But when sabotage brings their small plane down, they find themselves fighting for their lives. And they don’t know what’s more dangerous: the weather and terrain of Sultana—one of the most hazardous mountains in Alaska—or the armed men chasing them.
Hardened by the loss in his life, Cole Maddox knows the best path is one he walks alone. No one to care for—or about. That way he can focus on what matters: getting a secret technology safely into the hands of the US Military. But when the plane he’s on with Jenna and Andie crashes, it will take all his skill and strength to get them out alive—and all his determination to stay in his self-imposed solitary confinement.
***NO SAFE HAVEN was written by mother/daughter author team, Kimberley and Kayla R. Woodhouse. Kim writes the adult characters while Kayla writes the pre-teen characters. This first book in a three book suspense series makes Kayla the youngest published full-length novelist from a royalty paying publisher.

Kimberley – your book sounds very interesting. I’m adding it to my to-read list. How fun it had to be writing with your daughter. My daughter & I have actually talked about doing that & we’ve come up with some fun ideas. I think that’s a beautiful way to bond even closer with family.
