Shannon here: Amish romance author, Laura V. Hilton shares insight into her real life romance plus a chance to win a copy of her latest release, Surrendered Love. Comment on any post dated April 29 – May 3 to get your name in the drawing. Deadline: May 11th, 11:59 pm central time. Here’s Laura:
- What’s the most romantic thing your spouse has ever done for you?
He bought me a lighthouse necklace as a birthday gift when I admired it.
- Where is the most romantic place you and your spouse have ever been?
I think it was when we went on vacation to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and hiked back to see waterfalls on the shore of Lake Superior.
- Do you and your spouse have a favorite song?
My husband wanted Household of Faith sung by Steve Green at our wedding. That has always sort of been our song.
- How soon after meeting your spouse did you know he was the one?
It was “love” at first sight. My heart recognized him when we met.
- How soon after meeting you did your spouse know you were the one?
It was instantaneous for him too.
- What is the most caring thing your spouse has ever done for you?
When I was going through breast cancer, he made sure he was there for me – or if he couldn’t be, that someone was. He also takes the time to read my manuscripts through.
- What is the most caring thing you’ve ever done for your spouse?
I try to be supportive of him in anyway I can.
- Who said, “I love you” first, you or your spouse?
Steve said “I love you” first. We were having a water-gun fight and he told me.
- Where did you and your spouse go for your honeymoon?
Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

About the Book- Surrendered Love: Janna Kauffman loves grocery shopping for the homebound in her Amish community. When Janna’s sister washes her hands of her rebellious daughter, Meghan, and sends her to live with her Amish relatives, Janna is spending less time shopping and more time explaining Meghan’s actions to police officer Hiram “Troy” Troyer. Formerly Amish Troy becomes a regular part of Janna and Meghan’s lives as Meghan continues to act out due to her Englisch mother’s rejection. Could God tame a headstrong teenager and help Janna and Troy find love in the midst of it all?
