In 2018 I wrote Embracing Hope, book one of the Valley Springs series under my pen name, Ann Laurel.
I like to write books that detail the gritty, raw, truth about life today. It’s not all roses and butterflies. True love stories are born out of strife and sin and redemption steps in and gives us a gift that can only come from God Himself.
In Embracing Hope, the main female character finds herself in a situation that many single girls find themselves in today. Her bad boy boyfriend impregnates her and then leaves her. She’s young, pregnant, and having to face life on her own. And to make matters worse, she doesn’t know Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
God’s love has no limitations and reaches down into the depths of despair and the deepest darkest pits of our lives. The story shows how He steps in when young Riley makes mistake after mistake and nearly loses her baby due to her bad decisions. True love blossoms in the most unlikely of places, and in the end, she receives Jesus as her Savior. The story shows how God takes a bad situation and turns it around for His good and His glory. And oh, of course there’s a great romance to the story too.

A really bad decision was when I married my ex. He was moody and abusive. God turned it for good in giving me three wonderful children. Grace in my divorce and a second chance with marriage with my husband of 27 years now!
I guess I could say he used my divorce to help me grow closer to him.
