Shannon here: I met Contemporary romance author, Rose Ross Zediker at an American Christian Fiction Writer’s Conference. We’ve eaten a lot of fancy meals together in fancy hotels, we write for the same publisher, and we blog together on Inkspirational Messages. I’m honored to have her as my guest this week. Rose shares insight into her real life romance plus two chances for two winners to win a copy of her latest release, Wedding on the Rocks. Comment on any post date July 29 – August 2 to get your name in the drawing. Deadline: August 10th, 11:59 pm central time. Here’s Rose:
My real life romance started thirty-three years ago with a movie date. We went to Electric Horseman, starring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. The movie was my choice and bless his heart Mike didn’t put up a fuss but later I found out…he really doesn’t like Jane Fonda movies.
- Where is the most romantic place you and your spouse have ever been?
Alaska. We took a land cruise for our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
- Where did you and your spouse go for your honeymoon?
We honeymooned in Colorado. One of our first stops was Royal Gorge so it breaks our hearts to see the fire damage.
- Who said, “I love you” first, you or your spouse?
I am sure he said ‘I love you’ first. He doesn’t think so, but that was thirty-three years ago so our memories are blurred. I guess all that matters is we still love each other, right?
- What is the most caring thing your spouse has ever done for you?
I’d had surgery and was taking shower at home for the first time. He hovered close to the shower in case I felt faint or needed help without me asking him to.
- What’s the most romantic present your spouse ever bought for you?
My husband is not a ‘flower delivery’ kind of guy, but on our 25th Wedding Anniversary he had 25 yellow roses (my favorite) delivered to my office. Then on our 30th Anniversary he had 30 yellow roses delivered to my office.
- What’s the most romantic present you ever bought your spouse?
Hands down, a gun. He’s a SASS Cowboy shooter and avid hunter.
About Rose: Rose Ross Zediker started penning short pieces for children’s Sunday school take home papers. During the two plus decades she’s been writing, her byline’s been found on over sixty works of fiction, non-fiction and Sunday school curriculum. When she decided to try her hand at writing a book, it just seemed natural to write inspirational romances.
Rose and her husband live in rural southeastern South Dakota where she works full-time at the University of South Dakota. Writing occupies many evenings and weekends but she balances both careers with relaxing hobbies, sewing, embroidery, quilting, reading and spoiling her granddaughters. About the book – Wedding on the Rocks:
JENNIFER EDWARDS IS BACK HOME AGAIN…
When she traded small-town life for the bright lights of Chicago, Jennifer Edwards yearned to discover a world beyond Faith, South Dakota. So when her father’s illness calls her home to run their cattle ranch, she tells herself its temporary. Then why is she even thinking about a future with archaeology professor Brett Lange-the boy she left behind-whose life’s work is digging up the past?
Twelve years ago, Brett had a crush on Jennifer the size of the T-Rex that put his hometown on the map. Now she’s a citified magazine editor who prefers designer duds to dungarees. Except that’s not the real Jennifer. Brett needs to make her see how a little faith can go a long way in uniting two perfectly-in-sync hearts.

Rose, I love that movie. After hearing my mom talk about Robert Redford for years while I was growing up, I finally fell for him in that movie.

Thanks for stopping by today. I am a pretty private person so you really have to tug this kind of information out of me. Shannon did a great job though!
