Shannon here: Sara L. Jameson shares the inspiration for her latest Romantic Suspense, Vengeance in Vienna. Comment or answer the question in this post to enter the drawing for a copy of Death in High Places and Vengeance in Vienna, winner’s choice of Kindle or print. Deadline: Aug 3rd, 11:59 pm central time. Here’s Sara:
Even nail-biting romantic suspense novels hinge on romance, right? A sequel to Death in High Places, Vengeance in Vienna is the third book in the romantic suspense series, Troubled Waters, published by Scrivenings Press.
After their life-threatening experiences in Antwerp and London (Death in High Places), Interpol Special Agent Jacob Coulter and his fiancée, opera singer Riley Williams, are in desperate need of a vacation where they can try to resolve the glitches in their relationship before she will agree to set a wedding date. And what better place to visit than story-book beautiful Austria with its snowcapped Alps, pristine lakes, castles, and onion-domed churches?
Having lived in Toronto, Vienna, Antwerp, and Bucharest, I love setting stories in romantic locales I’ve visited or were once home. And since the hero, Jacob, is posted to the Brussels Interpol Office, his assignments to catch criminals lead him to fascinating cities.
In October 2019, I spent seven days walking favorite places in Vienna. Naturally, that meant a trip to my favorite pastry shop, Heiner’s Konditorei. It’s Riley’s favorite shop too. My mouth waters, thinking of the yummy treats she ordered. (All sampled by yours truly. And others in the name of research.)
During my visit, a friend told me of the plight of many young women and girls and the government policies enabling their grim future, which continues today. (Sorry, no further details to ruin the story for readers.) Although the villain is fictitious, the information birthed the backdrop for the novel.
I hope you enjoy Jacob and Riley’s blossoming romance and their latest life-and-death adventures.
Question for Readers: What are some of your favorite places to visit and why?

About the Book – Vengeance in Vienna
A moonlight sail. A sniper on the shore. A terrorist financier determined to kill Jacob and everyone he holds dear.
When Interpol Special Agent Jacob Coulter and his fiancée Riley Williams set out on a moonlight sail, a sniper turns their Austrian vacation into a deadly nightmare.
On temporary assignment to the Vienna Interpol office, Jacob is tasked with apprehending a notorious terrorist financier and uncovering his operations in Austria. But the financier is determined to destroy all Jacob holds dear. And that includes his kid sister and his fiancée, Riley Williams.
Opera singer Riley Williams is tired of dodging terrorist attempts on her life. When she insists on helping Jacob catch the financier and his henchmen, she gets into more trouble than she bargained for.
But the financier’s tentacles of evil reach far deeper into the Austrian economy than Jacob and Riley suspected. What they uncover appalls them. The clock is ticking. Can Jacob locate them before it’s too late?

Lisbon, Portugal and the southern area of Portugal are so scenic and beautiful.
Jenny Carlisle says
I enjoy finding quaint small towns or out of the way parts of a larger town. For example- the French Market in New Orleans, the shops along the riverfront is Savannah. The less touristy, the better.

Egypt.. Only place I have been so far but the historical landmarks were amazing to see in person. I even got the chance to ride a camel which was an adventure to say the least.
Sara L. Janeson says
Hi Donna,
Wow, Egypt! I haven’t had a chance to visit the country, but my parents lived in Alexandria and loved their time there. Not sure I’d have been brave enough to ride a camel, though.
Thanks for posting.

Kauai, Hawaii,

I love to cruise and two of my favorite stops are Puerto Rico and St. Thomas. I enjoyed learning more about this new to me author.
Sara Jameson says
Hi Cherie,
Thank you for posting! I agree, cruising can be fantastic. I love the unpack-once aspect, the chance to meet people, and opportunities to set foot in countries or places new to me. I’ve never been to Puerto Rico or St. Thomas, though.
Jennifer Hibdon says
My favorite places are Michigan, home and so many beautiful destinations, and Germany!!!, visited on an European Study Tour in college and stationed there in the Army, so ready to go back!
Sara Jameson says
Hi Jennifer,
First of all, I want to thank you so much for serving our country in the Army.
I’ll bet a European study tour must have been exciting. Germany is such a lovely country. My trips to Michigan were to do guest university recitals, and drive through the state in a winter blizzard en route to Toronto one year, so I haven’t seen as much of the state as I would like. But a place I’ve longed to visit is Mackinac Island.
Thank you for posting.
