- Do you and your spouse have a favorite romantic restaurant?
One of our favorite romantic restaurants is Little Napoli, an Italian restaurant in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. The ambiance is cozy and warm, and the food is magnificent. We’ve had many anniversary dinners in this restaurant. It definitely is a taste of Italy!
- Do you and your spouse have a favorite song?
My husband and I have a lot of favorite songs, but one of our most recent favorites is Buy Dirt by Jordan Davis, featuring Luke Bryan. The title doesn’t sound very romantic, but as parents of four adult children this is the type of song that brings all the sentimental feels, especially now that one of our kids (maybe two!) are headed toward the altar. Like the song says, “It all goes by real quick.” My husband told me he’s grateful he bought dirt with me. Check it out! It’s a great song.
- What’s the most romantic present your spouse ever bought for you?
When I think of romantic gifts, my mind automatically thinks of jewelry. But one of the most romantic (and biggest) present my spouse bought for me was an addition to our house. He believes in me so much that he was willing to pay a lot of money for me to have a space of my own, which is now my office. I am very grateful!
- What’s the most romantic present you ever bought your spouse?
One of the most romantic presents I bought for my spouse was a backpack. This is not an ordinary backpack. It can hold wet or dry items, such as a wetsuit. (My husband is a surfer.) He tells me often how much he loves it—mostly because I picked it out all on my own. And that’s saying something. My husband can be quite picky!
- What simple gesture does your spouse do that melts you every time?
I love it when my husband plays with my hair and rubs my head. I become a puddle. Yes, it melts me every time! I have found that he gives me the best head rubs when he is watching sports, particularly football. Time slips by without him realizing how long he’s been doing it. 🙂 It’s a win win for both of us!
- Do your hero and heroine have as favorite romantic restaurant?
Amanda owns a restaurant called The Blue Crab Café, and much of the story takes place there. Amanda and Tyler do share a candlelit dinner, but it’s boxed pizza at Tyler’s house. Anywhere with a lit candle can be romantic!
- Do your hero and heroine have a favorite song?
Yes, but if I told you, it would give part of the book away. It’s worth the wait to find out what it is! 🙂
- What’s the most romantic present your hero ever bought your heroine?
Tyler purchased a hanging flower pot for Amanda. What made it romantic was that it came with a kiss on the cheek, one that made Amanda feel like having a relationship with Tyler was possible.
- What simple gesture does your heroine do that melts your hero every time?
Tyler loves it when he sees Amanda put others before herself. Her kind and considerate nature, whether it is toward him, her cousin, or the people of their community, makes him care about her even more.
- If your hero and heroine end up married, where will they go on their honeymoon?
If Amanda and Tyler end up married, I can picture them following in her aunt and uncle’s footsteps and travelling all across the United States in an RV. They would enjoy their time together and have plenty of stories to share with their friends and family when they returned home.

About the book – Sweet Cranberries:
A heartwarming story about accepting others, celebrating community, and the rush of falling in love in autumn.
Amanda Richards moves to the island of Nantucket to take over the Blue Crab Café that her aunt and uncle have successfully run for forty years. Hoping to prove her worth to a somewhat skeptical community, she volunteers to organize the annual Cranberry Festival at the Milestone Cranberry Bog. When a handsome electrician and other residents of the island step up to help with the festival, she must discern whether they really have her best interests at heart.
Tyler Adams, owner of Adams Electric, is having a hard time accepting the news that the Blue Crab Café has been sold and the former owner is moving away—a man who’s been a father figure to Tyler since his dad’s death two years ago. When Amanda, the new owner, steps up to head up the Cranberry Festival planning committee, he volunteers to help her and quickly falls for the newest member of the community. The only thing he hadn’t planned on was his ex-fianceé returning to town with her sights set on winning him back.

Melissa Pettersen says
I love going to festivals. I look and find some local & some in other towns a little farther away. I went to a lavender festival this summer & a few fall festivals. I’m still scoping out Christmas ones.
Shannon Vannatter says
Glad to have you here, Sherry. I love festivals, simply because of the greasy fair food. Stuff I normally totally don’t eat, like chicken on a stick. Yum, chunks of chicken, pickle, and onion deep fried. Our town has an Old Soldiers Reunion and a Trail Festival with rides, vendors’ booths, and food.
Natalya Lakhno says
Not really a festival but more like a fall season activities at Apple Hill (orchards and wineries).
Peach week, Blueberry week, and of course Apples!
Melanie Backus says
I love festivals! We go to the Peanut Festival every year!

I have a winner! Melissa Pettersen won the drawing. I appreciate Sherry for being my guest and everyone else for stopping by.
