Shannon here: Romantic Suspense author, Terri Reed shares insight into her real life romance plus two chances to win her latest release, Danger at the Border for two winners. 1. What’s the most romantic thing your spouse has ever done for you?
Ten years in to our marriage I lost my wedding ring. I was devastated and cried for months. We tore our house apart looking for the ring but never found it. My husband went on a business trip during this traumatic time and when he returned he brought me a new ring and had Never Surrender engraved inside. That is the title to ‘our’ song.
2. Do you and your spouse have a favorite song?
We have several favorite songs, but there is one that tops the others. Never Surrender by Cory Hart. We danced to this as our first dance at our wedding reception. On our anniversary we play this song to remind us of the commitment we’ve made to never give up on each other.
3. What’s the most romantic present you ever bought your spouse?
When I sold my first book, I took part of my advance and bought my husband a racecar package at the local raceway. He was speechless at first, which has only happened on one other occasion, the birth of our son. Then he was ecstatic!
4. Do you and your spouse have a favorite romantic vacation destination?
Hawaii is our go to place. We spent our honeymoon on Kaui. We’ve been to Oahu numerous times, Maui several times and the Big Island once.
5. How soon after meeting your spouse did you know he/she was the one?
I knew within a few days. I fell fast and hard. I couldn’t imagine not having him in my life. We’ve been married now for 27 years.
6. How soon after meeting you did your spouse know you were the one?
He says the day we met. About three weeks after we met he gave me a pen with my first name and his last name. Needless to say I cried. Thought he did get married for another three years but I hung on to that pen.
7. Where did you and your spouse go for your honeymoon?
We went to Poipu Beach on the island of Kaui. We stayed right on the beach with an ocean view. We had a wonderful time snorkeling, hiking, and driving around the island in a convertible. We rode in a helicopter and took a boat ride in the ocean where dolphins swam alongside of us. It was a grand adventure.

No, fortunately neither my spouse or I have lost our Wedding ring but my husbands was cutting into his finger from many years of wear a few years ago so we decided to sell it & replace it so I guess it was sort of like losing it!
Lost my ring foe a short time in the car but was blessed to find it quickly.
My ex-husband did lose wedding ring at work right after we got married but was lucky that the clean up crew found it and returned it!
I am not married. So I don’t have a spouse.
Once upon a time, we had a truck stolen from church. On Mother’s Day and my mother-in-law’s gift was in the truck. It was a chop shop and we never got the truck back. Or her gift. Afterward, my husband couldn’t find his wedding ring. He finally remembered, he’d hung it on the blinker switch in his truck while he played basketball the day before the truck was stolen. We bought him another ring.
My husband doesn’t understand why anybody would sit and watch cars go round and round. But my dad loves NASCAR. He was a big Richard Petty fan, then a Kyle Petty fan. I’m not sure he roots for now. I’ll have to ask him.

Bonnie, so glad you found your ring. I’ll never forget that heart stopping moment of realizing my ring was missing. My husband couldn’t understand why I was so upset. It’s just a ring, he said. But for me it was more about what it represented. Though I finally had step back and realize an object wasn’t the sum of our marriage. I felt much better after I let go of the sentiment of the ring.
Shelia, how very blessed you were to have the cleaning crew find and return the ring. That says a lot about the character of the people on the crew.
Angela, thank you for commenting. I personally am not a huge fan of race cars. I can watch for a bit but then I’m a little bored. The same goes for football. 🙂 Though that’s watching on TV. Being at a race or game might be different.
Shannon, that’s horrible to have your vehicle stolen from church. I’m sure the thieves figured everyone was inside so they were free to do what they willed.
I mentioned in an earlier post about how I feel regarding race cars/races. Once when I was in my early twenties, I got to see part of a race that wound through San Diego. We could only see a small portion of the track, which really was a street they’d blocked off for the race. It was exciting to see the cars zoom past, then nothing but wait until they lapped back around.
For my husband it was the driving part that had him so excited. He loves going fast!
I lost the large diamond in my wedding ring on a trip to Tennessee. I cried a bucket of tears! A couple of weeks later my son found it tucked between the seats of our van while vacuuming the floorboards. 🙂

My sister recently lost her wedding ring while on a road trip- they had parked their car on the street in a large city and her ring had been on her lap for some reason- putting on lotion or something. She noticed it was missing a few hours later, and when they returned to the car, they found it underneath! So lucky.
#1 – Funny story: Husband threw his ring when we were fighting one day, and since I was mad I didn’t pick it up. Several days later we both went looking for it, but never found it. MANY years later I decided to wear an old robe I had and what did I find in the pocket – his ring!! I have no idea how it got in the pocket.

I did not lose my wedding ring, but I did lose my anniversary ring. Here’s what happened. I had gotten some sort of rash and swelling on my ring finger and took my anniversary band off to provide some comfort from the swelling. I didn’t want to not wear it, so I put it on a necklace that I always wear (a gift from my late grandfather). For several weeks I would touch my necklace daily to feel the ring. Then one morning while I was in my studio I reached and the ring wasn’t there! I freaked out and searched the floor of my studio and our entire office. It was nowhere in sight. I cried and prayed and called friends and asked them to pray as well. I then tore my car apart with no luck. When I got home for some reason I felt led to my bedroom. I took the coverlet off the bed, and there it was! I was beyond relieved.
I enjoyed the interview with Terri. I loved that her and her husband had “Never Surrender” as their song. As an 80s girl, I immediately recognized the name and could hear the tune in my mind. Loved it!
