When love finds you in Mississippi by Janet W. Ferguson:
I was almost twenty-seven when I re-surrendered my life to Christ. I had become a Christian at eleven, but in my late teens had become a prodigal. After years of heartache as I followed my own path rather than God’s, I came home to my loving Father.
Unexpectedly, a few months later, April 15th 1991 to be exact, I ran into an acquaintance from high school—Bruce Ferguson. We hit it off and less than seven months later, we tied the knot.
It’s funny how love came out of the blue when I quit following my will rather than God’s. Now, my life and marriage isn’t perfect just because I’m a believer. We’ve had our storms in our family. My mother, father and mother-in-law died in a two-month period in 2012. Our young adult children had six surgeries within two years.
Sickness, tight finances, and spiritual battles are common to all humanity. I think the one thing that’s kept us together is a commitment to the Lord, even more than the commitment to each other. But we are committed to each other and I’m thankful for my husband!

About the book – Leaving Oxford:
Escaping home to Oxford, Mississippi, seemed like a good idea. Until it wasn’t.
A year after a tragic accident in Los Angeles flipped her world upside down, advertising guru Sarah Beth LeClair is still hiding away in her charming hometown of Oxford, Mississippi. And she may well be stuck there forever. Suffering from panic attacks, she prays for healing. Instead, her answer comes in the form of an arrogant football coach and an ugly puppy.
Former celebrity college quarterback Jess McCoy dreamed of playing pro football. One freak hit destroyed his chances. Although he enjoys his work as the university’s offensive coordinator, his aspirations have shifted to coaching at the highest level. His plans of moving up are finally coming together—until he falls for a woman who won’t leave town.
As the deadline for Jess’s decision on his dream career looms, the bars around Sarah Beth’s heart only grow stronger. But it’s time to make a decision about leaving Oxford.

Hey Janet, nice to have you here. We were engaged two years. But only because I was only 17. By that time, we’d been a couple for 2 1/2 years. Yep, high school sweethearts. 33 yrs later, we’re still sweethearts.
Janet Ferguson says
Aww! How sweet!

I first met my husband April 22nd, 2013 at an airport in Idaho. The next time we met was at an airport in Alaska on June 12, 2013. When he entered the waiting area, he dropped to his knees and proposed to me. We were married June 25, 2013 in the airport near the spot where he proposed. (We were going to be married in a park but the 92* weather and mosquitoes helped us choose the spontaneous location.)
Janet Ferguson says
Wow, Elisa! That’s quite a story!!
Melanie Backus says

We were engaged for a year, married on Dec. 28, 1974 & our son was born on Dec. 26, 1975. Unfortunately, my husband died in the line of duty on Nov. 11, 1981. He was just 32 yrs. old, I was 26 & my son was just 5. We miss him to this day.
Janet Ferguson says
I’m so sorry, Mary Jane. Hugs and prayers. That had to be so hard.
