The story of my first date with my spouse isn’t very exciting, but it was to me at the time. I’d recently rededicated my life to the Lord and was active in church. I’d been asking God to send me a good, saved Christian man who would go to church with me. I was working in an insurance office then and my future husband came walking in to add insurance to a car. Our first date was to his church on a Wednesday night. After just a few dates, I told my mother that he was the man for me and that I would marry him. A year later, I did.
I have a little different idea of romance than most people. To me, true romance occurs in the day to day sacrifices made to make your spouse happy. For example, my husband hates to plant flowers, but he does every Spring just because it makes me happy. I’m a book collector and have a couple thousand books in the house. He remodeled one of our rooms, turning it into a library just for me and my collection. The man would give his right arm to make me happy and that’s romance! There are times we don’t see eye to eye, but if it’s something that means a lot to me, he’ll move heaven and earth to make it come true. We’ve had a good life together and I thank God for him.

Getting a boyfriend, which is perhaps the most important goal, becomes complicated when she and her best friend, Lexi, fall for the same guy. Since Lexi is popular, gorgeous, and always gets her guy, Eden thinks she doesn’t have a chance.
Channing Johnson is everything Eden’s ever dreamed of and she can’t believe he just moved in next door. When he starts showing interest in her, she’s overjoyed…until she sees him out on a date with Lexi. He says Lexi talked him into it to repay her for tutoring him. Lexi says they’re in love.
Eden doesn’t know who to believe and is forced to choose between her best friend and the guy of her dreams. Nothing is as it seems and no matter who she chooses, someone will get hurt.
