Interview with Zoe:
- Are you open to your own romance?
I wasn’t so sure about romance with Nate Neitch when I returned to town. He’d totally changed since last summer. He’d cut off the wavy hair I loved and sported a military buzz cut. And, what’s up with the tattoos? He’d never mentioned a tattoo, so why did he get two? To make matters worse, he hooked up with Laken after I left town. It’s not like we promised we wouldn’t date anyone else, but I didn’t. I spent the entire school year pining after him, counting the days until I could return to my grandparents house for the summer because that meant I’d live next door to him.
- What’s the number one quality you’d require in a mate?
The guy I marry will have to be someone I don’t fight with all the time. My parents’ constant fighting gets on my nerves and now they’re talking divorce. When I get married, I want it to be forever. I’m hoping my parents will get some counseling and work it out.
- What’s the number two quality you’d require in a mate?
He’d have to be faithful and I’d have to trust him. I’m trying to trust Nate, but the Laken thing broke my heart and I’ve never fully recovered. What if I fall head-over-heels and he does it again?
- What’s the one habit or lifestyle that would make you run the other way?
I’d run from a guy who parties. That’s no kind of life. Nate told me he partied for a while after I left last summer because he missed me so much. The partying got him into a little trouble and he caught some criminal charges. He says he’s over it and I believe him.
- Where do you dream of getting married?
I’d love to get married at my grandparent’s house on the front porch with our guests below us in the yard. Nate and I have shared many kisses on the porch swing there and it holds special memories.
- Where do you dream of spending your honeymoon?
I’m not picky. Anywhere with Nate will be absolutely perfect. The only thing that would make it even better is if we run into a mystery while we’re there. I’m beginning to think Nate loves a good mystery as much as I do.

About the book: Zoe’s cousin Emma thinks she’s the recipient of some sick joke when an old boyfriend she thought dead shows up on the internet. Can Zoe solve the mystery that’s causing Emma so much pain when her attraction to the town bad boy is so distracting?
When Zoe Mack moves in with her grandparents to start college, she’s thrown into more mystery than she bargained for. Her cousin, Emma, is terrorized by a stalker who breaks into her house and leaves a photo-shopped image of Emma hanging from a tree. Nothing is as it seems and Emma soon learns that even the man she thinks she can trust is suspect.
Zoe can’t wait to reunite with Nate, the bad boy who doesn’t talk about his feelings much, but the passionate kiss he gave her last summer had to have meant something. When she arrives back in town and discovers that he’s in trouble with the law, she must take matters into her own hands in order to clear his name. She has her hands full with a needy Emma, a cop who gives her the creeps, and Nate, the guy she desperately wants to call her own. Can Zoe solve the mystery, clear Nate’s name, and make him fall in love with her?
