Shannon here: Laura Jackson shares insight into her characters’ romance from her Young Adult novel, Worth the Wait plus a chance to win a print copy for U.S. or e-book for international. Comment on any post dated Feb 17 – 19. Deadline: March 1st, 11:59 pm central time. Here’s Laura:
- What’s the most romantic present your hero ever bought your heroine?
They’ve known each other for a long time, and he gives her a collection of sketches he drew of her throughout the years.
- What simple gesture does your hero do that melts your heroine every time?
He tells her she’s worth the wait.
- How soon after meeting the heroine did the hero know she was the one?
It’s a YA story, so the future isn’t set. But, Josh has cared for Ellie long before she noticed him as more than her best friend’s twin.
- Who is most romantic, your hero or your heroine?
Josh is. Ellie loves reading romance novels, but she’s been living her mom’s dream for her life. So, she’s never really experienced independent love.
- What is the most caring thing your hero has ever done for your heroine?
He’s an artist, so he sets up his garage as an art studio and lets her paint out her hurt.
- Who said, “I love you” first, your hero or your heroine?
They haven’t said it yet….perhaps in the next book. 🙂
- If you hero and heroine end up married, where will they go on their honeymoon?

I loved Josh in this book! He was so amazing and totally made me melt! I loved the painting scene and the part where he gave her his drawings of her, but I also totally loved the verses part! It was such a small thing but it was the absolute sweetest!
Loved this book!

Thanks, everyone, I do love Josh! I don’t have kids, but I’m praying my nephew is like Josh. He’s only 9, but he is already sweet. Praying for his future wife.
