Shannon here: Historical romance author, Lena Nelson Dooley shares her real life SURPRISE and a chance to win a copy of her latest novel, Catherine’s Pursuit. Comment on any post dated Feb 25 – March 1 to get your name in the drawing. Deadline: March 9th, 11:59 pm central time. Here’s Lena:
When I was in high school, I had been hit hard in the stomach by a weighted medicine ball. Because f some things going on in my body, it did real damage to me. The doctor told me that I might not ever conceive a child.
Unbeknown to me, James’s mother had been x-rayed while she was carrying him. The doctor told her that he probably would be unable to father a child. She had worried for twenty-five years that he would never give her grandchildren.
Because of what happened to me, we didn’t even bother with the idea of birth control. Imagine our surprise when I conceived almost immediately. There was plenty of celebrating in the Dooley family because all our fears had been in vain.
We have two beautiful daughters and two sons-in-law, grandchildren have followed, as well as a great grandson. Our blessings are abundant. Praise the Lord.

About the book – Catherine’s Pursuit: The search for her sisters will become a spiritual journey for the entire family.
Raised by her father, Catherine McKenna has never lacked for anything, surrounded by people to take care of her every need. On her eighteenth birthday she discovers that not only did her mother die when she was born, but she has two identical sisters. Although her father vowed not to look for his daughters, Catherine made no such promise. Setting out on her own with one clue and her maid in tow, she’s determined to find her sisters.
Collin Elliott has seen better days. After losing his ship to a violent and unexpected storm, he is trying to recover–physically and emotionally. When Angus McKenna sends him to find, follow, and protect his daughter, he wants nothing more than to finish his task and return home. Can he help her find her sisters?
And will the discoveries they make along the way teach them both what’s most important in life?
“A heartwarming tale filled with history, adventure, faith, and love.” –Lisa Wingate, bestselling and award-winning author of Dandelion Summer and Firefly Island

God does the unexpected. People say miracles do not happen today but you and your husband can dispute that claim. God is so good.

I read, loved, and reviewed the first two books in this series and have become a blog stalker trying to win Catherine’s Pursuit. I will have to write a short story called My Pursuit of Catherine’s Pursuit! 🙂 I HAVE to find out what happens with the triplets!
I was also told that I couldn’t conceive any more children 6 yrs. after I had my daughter. I am so glad God has the last word b/c 10 months after that disturbing news I gave birth to a blonde hair, blue eyed baby boy who has been the light of my life!

Wonderful story. So glad you have been blessed with children. My husband and I have not been able to have children because shortly after we were married I had to have surgery that would affect our chance of ever having a child. We been married for 30 years and have grown to enjoy and appreciate what we have. Thank you for the giveaway.
