Shannon here: Here’s a chance to get to know two characters who’ve been in my head since I was a teenager. Comment on any post dated Oct 4 – 8 to get your name in the drawing. Two copies of my latest release, Rodeo Queen, up for grabs for two winners. Deadline: Nov 16th, 11:59 pm central time. Here’s Mitch and Caitlyn:
Caitlyn Wentworth:
- Are you open to your own romance?
No. I fell in love once and it didn’t work out. It was painful and I’m better off alone.
- What’s the number one quality you’d require in a mate?
If I were to even think about entertaining a relationship—and I’m not—he’d have to have a very safe, mundane job.
- What’s the number two quality you’d require in a mate?
That if he didn’t have a very safe, mundane job, he’d find one if he wanted to be in my life.
- Where is the best place you can think of to find a mate?
Church. Or maybe school. A school teacher would be nice and safe.
- Where is the worst place you can think of to find a mate?
Anywhere there are men wearing badges.
- Where do you dream of getting married?
The Ever After Chapel in Aubrey. I planned to do that a long time ago.
Mitch Warren:
- Are you open to your own romance?
Only with a certain stubborn woman, but Caitlyn wants nothing to do with me.
- What’s the number one quality you’d require in a mate?
That she be able to handle my job as a Texas Ranger.
- What’s the number two quality you’d require in a mate?
That she’d turn everything over to God and just live.
- Where is the best place you can think of to find a mate?
Church. Or high school. Sometimes high school sweethearts stand the test of time. Sometimes—not.
- Where is the worst place you can think of to find a mate?
High school. Sometimes you just can’t get past that first love when it doesn’t work out.
- Where do you dream of getting married?
The Ever After Chapel in Aubrey. I was supposed to marry the love my life there a long time ago.

Michelle says
Looks like a great read!!
Shannon Taylor Vannatter says
Hey Susan,
I do too. It was fun having my characters visit places I’ve visited with my family. And the ranch near San Antonio in the story is based on my father-in-law’s ranch.
Michelle,
Thanks! I certainly enjoyed writing it.
Barbara Thompson says
