Interview with Peter & Kiera:
Good to see you both. Thanks for making time to come in for this interview on romance.
P: I’m glad to get a break from the tour so this worked out great.
K: And who doesn’t like talking about romance?
P: Most guys.
Okay, let’s get to it. Who’s the most romantic between the two of you?
(They point at each other and laugh.)
P: I’m a dork when it comes to romance so it’s definitely her.
K: When he was recording at the studio, he’d leave a glass of my favorite iced tea on my desk when I was super busy.
P: That was romantic? I was just trying to get you to notice me.
K: Oh, I noticed. Long before the tea.
P: When we’re out doing stuff, she has this way of holding my arm. Sounds weird but it’s like she’s telling the world we’re together. That’s just cool.
K: And it keeps me from falling off my heels.
Some people have “their song.” Do you two?
K: (blushing) He surprised me with it at his kick-off concert here in Minneapolis. It’s called “Hearts Entwined.”
P: (takes her hand) But it’s really “Kiera’s Song.” It was a melody that just wouldn’t get out of my head. I was working on it in the studio one Saturday morning, having a tough time getting it finished. She stopped by and ended up helping me finish it. That’s when I knew it would be “our” song. From then on it was always Kiera’s Song in my head.
K: I was going to go canoeing that day but my roommate bailed on me. Peter offered to go in her place. It was really a magical afternoon.
P: That’s when I fell for her.
So who said “I love you” first?
K: He did. But I did pretty quickly afterwards.
P: I couldn’t believe this gorgeous woman would fall for the Singing Nerd from Mable, Iowa. And I was amazed that I had the guts to tell her how I felt. When she said it back I could have done backflips across the room.
K: You can do backflips?
P: Nope, but I could have that day.
One last question. Kiera, what’s one thing Peter does that melts your heart? And Peter, same question for you.
K: Hmm. There are so many.
P: Really?
K: Really. There’s this one thing that he doesn’t even know he does.
P: Uh oh.
K: He looks at me in a way no one else ever has. With modeling, I was used to people looking at the outer me, the “fashion piece.” But he has always seen the real me, and he seems to like who I am inside. It turns me into a puddle every time.
P: The outside is gorgeous but it’s the inside that caught my attention. She has this huge heart. She’s funny and way smart. She’s pretty fierce about caring for the people she loves. I’m glad I’m one of them.
K: Aww, that’s sweet.
So what’s something she does that melts your heart, Peter? In a guy way, of course.
P: Man, there are so many. I can look at her all day and keep discovering new things. She has a great laugh. That was how we connected in the first place. We think the same things are funny, and when she laughs, I have to laugh.
K: (rolling her eyes) I sound like Woody Woodpecker.
P: Hey, I happen to like his laugh. And yours.
Okay, you two can argue that one out. Thanks for the interview.
(On their way out of the room)
P: Woody Woodpecker has a very famous laugh, you know. You could do worse.
K: (gives him a shove) And I will if you keep that up.

Question: What’s something someone has done for you that made your heart melt?
Come back May 25th for Caryl McAdoo!
Shelia Hall says
sent me flowers just because they were thinking of me when I was going through a rough time in my life
Stacy says
How sweet! That’s the sign of someone who really cares about you, Sheila. And they probably didn’t know just how much it would mean to you.
Brenda S Anderson says
Thanks for the smile this early Friday morning! Great interview Peter & Kiera! (And Stacy!) 🙂
Stacy says

Shannon Taylor Vannatter says
After our son was born, my husband was awesome about helping with the colicky newborn in the middle of the night. He’d hold our baby belly down on the length of his arm the way the doctor had showed us to soothe him and walk from one end of the house to the other until our son calmed and went to sleep. Even though he had to get up early for work the next morning and I had quit my job.
My arm couldn’t hold up under the weight of our 9 pound boy. Plus I was home all day dealing with colick while my husband was at work. It was a very long 5 1/2 months and I couldn’t have done it by myself and stayed sane.
Shannon Taylor Vannatter says
Oh, I forgot to say, it was a fun interview. You brought them off the page, Stacy. It felt like they were really sitting in the room with you. Love their banter.
Stacy says
Thanks, Shannon. The interview pretty much wrote itself!
Stacy says
Shannon, thank goodness your hubby was strong AND caring. I’ve heard how difficult (impossible!) those months of colic can be.
Deanna S says
Our children gave us a surprise 35th anniversary party.. Although they did tell us a few days before because we mentioned we were going on a road trip that weekend & they had to tell us. Many family & friends came. 🙂
Stacy says
What a sweet gesture by the kids, Deanna! Good thing they told you ahead or you’d have missed your own party!
Deanne Patterson says
