Shannon here: Toni Shiloh shares insight into her real-life romance plus a chance to win a copy of her latest Contemporary Romance, In Search of a Prince. Comment or answer the question in this post to enter the drawing for an e-book or print copy (US only for print). Deadline: March 12th, 11:59 pm central time. Here’s Toni:
- What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for your spouse?
Honestly, that’s hard for me to answer. I think over the years, my idea of romance has changed. When we dated, he’d write me letters (when deployed), send me gifts, and make sure I knew I was loved. Now I swoon more over actions he does versus things he buys.
- What’s the most romantic present your spouse ever bought for you?
Oh this is a tough one. It’s between engraved roses and a Nook. I know, I know, why is an e-reader device romantic. Well, ask any book worm and I’m sure they’ll agree having hundreds of books in one little device is romantic when given to them by their spouse. 🙂
- Do you and your spouse have a favorite romantic vacation destination?
Yes, but it’s probably not going to seem romantic to others, lol. Our favorite destination is Disney World and one of our favorite things to do is embrace one another as the ferry goes over the water to the Magic Kingdom. It’s so relaxing and just being with one another makes it romantic.
- Who is most romantic, you or your spouse?
I think my husband is. It’s hard for me to figure out romantic things to do for him even though I’m a romance writer. I could probably think of a million ways a guy can be romantic to a girl but vice versa and my brain stalls.
- What is the most caring thing your spouse has ever done for you?
Brushed my hair when I didn’t feel well. It seriously brought me to tears and made me feel so cared for. It’s something I hope I never forget.
- Who said, “I love you” first, you or your spouse?
I did but he quickly followed and I never felt such relief in my life, lol. I was so afraid he wouldn’t return the sentiment or think my feelings came too quickly.

About the book – In Search of a Prince:
It seems like a dream come true . . . until it forces her to question everything.
Brielle Adebayo is fully content teaching at a New York City public school and taking annual summer vacations with her mother to Martha’s Vineyard. But everything changes when her mom drops a bombshell–Brielle is really a princess in the island kingdom of Ọlọrọ Ilé, off the coast of Africa, and she must immediately assume her royal position, since the health of her grandfather, the king, is failing.
Distraught by all the secrets her mother kept, Brielle is further left spinning when the Ọlọrọ Ilé Royal Council brings up an old edict that states she must marry before her coronation, or the crown will pass to another. Brielle is uncertain if she even wants the throne, and with her world totally shaken, where will she find the courage to take a chance on love and brave the perils a wrong decision may bring?

I think on Full House with Jesse’s and Becki’s bet when Jesse wore the pregnancy belt and Becki came up to give him a massage when he took it off was romantic. She definitely knew the pain you get carrying all of that weight. She deserved to decorate the twins room. She couldn’t stop being pregnant, but seeing as men can’t hack 24 hours of a belt. It was romantic to give him the massage.
Mary Preston says
I watched a western movie years ago and when the cowboy tipped his hat I swooned. Of course it was the grin on his face too.
Sonnetta Jones says
One of the things I like to see is when the hero kisses the wife on the forehead because it just speaks to the intimacy of the couple. Another thing is when the heroine her sweet spot at the hero’s side.

I have enjoyed the finale of Rachel Hauck’s royal books. They always have such a vivid, magical feel to them. I have a feeling Toni’s book will have that same magical vibe. Especially since I share her love for the most magical place on earth!
