Hi. I’m Keanan Welsh. I am a practical man who helps people in hands-on ways. I speak several languages and enjoy travel, but not for the sake of seeing new places. Instead, I dig wells, install solar panels, and share the gospel with anyone who will listen. Recently I’ve joined the team at Green Acres Farm in Idaho, where I enjoy spiritual fellowship with the team, work hard on the farm, and am active in the local church.
You said you have some questions for me?
- Are you open to your own romance?
It could happen, I suppose, but I’m not actively seeking it. As a musician, I’ve sung and played in many weddings and, while I’m happy for my friends, I’m just not sure there is anyone out there for me. That’s okay. I am content with my lot in life.
- What’s the number one quality you’d require in a mate?
That hypothetical mate? She would need to have a passion for Jesus and a desire to share Him. She’d want to travel with me and make a difference in peoples’ lives during the farm’s off-season. We’d be a team. That makes marriage sound pretty good, actually.
- What type of character traits are you attracted to?
Someone who puts others’ needs before her own and has compassion on those who are in need. A generous spirit. God has given us so much, and He desires us to reach out to those who are less fortunate.
- What type of features are you attracted to?
Uh, features? You mean, what she looks like? Why does that matter? Pretty is as pretty does, my mother used to say.
- What’s the one habit or lifestyle that would make you run the other way?
Frivolity. Selfishness. Wait, that’s two.
- Where do you dream of getting married?
Green Acres Farm is a beautiful, peaceful spot for weddings. Not as stuffy or formal as a big-city church, but surrounded by friends, family, and God’s nature.
- Where do you dream of spending your honeymoon?
I don’t dream of honeymoons. If I ever get married, which is doubtful, I’ll be so focused on my bride that I won’t care where we are. Uh, that might be too much information.
- What would be the best gift a potential mate could buy for you?
I’d value a home-cooked meal or a handmade quilt over anything money can buy. Things are just things and don’t have eternal value.

I buy from a grocery store because I live in a tiny apartment and no farmer’s market close.
I do like to visit the local farmers market, and there are several near by. But I don’t make it as often as I would like. Mostly it’s the grocery store for me.
I wind up at the grocery store at least once a week, even though I have a garden and a farmers’ market and a natural meat market!
I enjoy buying from our local farmer’s market and grocery store too. I loved Plum Upside Down.
