Shannon here: Inspirational author K Dawn Byrd shares insight into her fictional characters’ romance. Every time you comment on this post, your name goes in the drawing for an e-book download of her latest release: This Time for Keeps. Deadline: Nov 7th, 11:59 pm central time. Here’s Dawn:
1. Are you open to your own romance?
Right now, I’m totally confused. I accepted David’s ring tonight and was all set to marry him and then Chase rides into town on that black Harley. He always had a way of stirring up trouble and now that he’s back, I don’t want to jump into a marriage with David. I want to see how things go with Chase because marriage is a huge commitment and I want to be sure that the man I say “I do” to is the man who I’ll be happy spending the rest of my life with.
2. What’s the number one quality you’d require in a mate?
First and foremost, the man I marry must be a Christian. David is a good man and is faithful to church. However, my heart is pulling me toward Chase, the rebel who had no use for God or church. Could God possibly be in that? Is my foolish heart dragging me out of God’s will?
3. What’s the number two quality you’d require in a mate?
He’d have to be faithful and I’d have to trust him. I just don’t know if I can trust Chase anymore after he left town a decade ago without as much as a goodbye. He broke my heart and I’ve never fully recovered. What if I fall head-over-heels and he takes off again?
4. What’s the one habit or lifestyle that would make you run the other way?
The bar scene. I’ve heard that while Chase was overseas in the military, he had his share of fast women and bar room brawls. If he as much as steps foot in a bar, I’ll never look at him again.
5. Where do you dream of getting married?
I’ve always wanted a big church wedding and since I’ve waited until I’m almost thirty to marry, I’m going all out.
6. Where do you dream of spending your honeymoon?
India. My parent were missionaries there and I’ve always dreamed of setting foot on the soil where they labored for so many years.

About the book: India McGuire’s peaceful life is shattered when on the night of her engagement to David Richards, she comes face to face with Chase Porter, a long lost love. India must come to terms with her overpowering feelings for Chase and choose between David, the neighbor who says he loves her, and Chase, the man who broke her heart.
Chase’s plans of leaving quietly turn to disaster when he finds that it’s impossible to disappear without seeing India one last time. Feelings begin to surface that he believed buried forever and he finds himself fighting to win her back even as David struggles to hold onto her.
India longs to follow her heart, but she’s been hurt too deeply. Who will she choose? The neighbor who can provide stability or the man she vowed to love forever who may once again heed to the call of the open road?
