Interview with Terri Hayes – heroine of Terri by Sharon Srock:
- Are you open to your own romance?
Are you kidding? I can’t wait for God to send Mr. Right my way. I’ve been this close, I—I, a few times but something always happens to send the romance south.
- What’s the number one quality you’d require in a mate?
I have a whole list. He needs to be a Christian, He needs to be a great kisser, He needs to be handsome, and he needs to want a family as much as I do.
- Where is the best place you can think of to find a mate?
I’ve always thought church was a good place, but I’m not finding a lot of single men in Valley View.
- What type of character traits are you attracted to?
My friend Callie has the perfect husband now that he’s a Christian. Benton is strong, emotionally steady, smart, and caring. He has a terrific sense of humor. I want some of all of those in my future husband.
- What’s the one habit or lifestyle that would make you run the other way?
Not wanting a family would be a definite turn-off.
- Where do you dream of getting married?
Honey, I’m not picky about place. Just in front of an altar with a man by my side is good enough.
- If you could order a carbon copy of an actor with the perfect character traits and beliefs for your mate, who would it be?
I don’t have time for a lot of TV, but if you go with just physical attributes…Pierce Brosnan gets my vote.
- What would be the best gift a potential mate could buy for you?
A nursery.

About the book – Terri: Despite a bustling day care center and a new foster child, Terri Hayes hungers for a family of her own. Then a plumbing mishap leaves her homeless and questioning God’s plan. Steve Evans’s gracious offer of his basement apartment as a temporary solution is an answered prayer.
Steve is a successful writer and a good father, but Terri is horrified when Steve’s book research leads him to a harsh confrontation with the parents of her foster child. She needs to distance herself from Steve, but her efforts fall short as his two scheming daughters plot to make Terri their new stepmother.
Will harsh words and sneaky plans drive Kelsey’s family further apart and put a wedge between Terri and Steve? Or does God have another plan in store?

Illene, I hope you do. Can I recommend starting with THE WOMEN OF VALLEY VIEW: CALLIE. It’s the first in the series. The books stand alone, but all the characters are introduced in the first book.

Great idea to interview the character instead of the author. I’m always on the lookout for women’s fiction, especially contemporary. Thanks for making me aware of Sharon Srock and her books. Sounds like they are right up my alley! BTW: Please enter me in the contest!
