Interview with Ashley Stevens from Capture Me by Sherry Kyle:
- What’s the number one quality you’d require in a mate?
Someone who understands my love of animals, especially dogs, even if that means I end up canceling a date to look for a lost stray. Yes, that happened! And no, I didn’t cancel, but I wanted to. All kidding aside, the top quality I’m looking for is kindness.
- What’s the number two quality you’d require in a mate?
The second is selflessness, although that one takes up too much of my boyfriend’s time. But he is a very giving guy, and I love that about him.
- Where is the best place you can think of to find a mate?
I met my boyfriend at the single’s group at church, which made my adoptive mom very happy. J
- What type of features are you attracted to?
Bryan, my boyfriend of three years, is super attractive with his dark hair and eyes, but I don’t really have a “type.” Okay, yes, he’s tall, dark, and handsome! Isn’t that every girl’s dream?
- What would be the best gift a potential mate could buy for you?
The best gift Bryan could give me would be a puppy from the animal shelter where I work. (I love animals, remember?) Bryan thinks it’s because taking care of abandoned and neglected animals is my passion, my true calling, and fills a deep-seated sense of loss I can’t pin down. He’s right, you know!
- Where do you dream of getting married?
Anywhere… as long as Bryan is at the end of the aisle to greet me. A beach wedding might be nice.
- Where do you dream of spending your honeymoon?
Somewhere warm and tropical, maybe Hawaii or Tahiti.

About the book – Capture Me:
Two biological sisters. Two different families. Will an old photograph prompt a reunion?
When Ashley Stevens discovers a box of photos that remind her of her difficult childhood with cancer, she wants to push that box aside while keeping her promise to her adoptive grandmother to create scrapbooks from the pictures in the trunk. A photo of herself as a young child sitting beside a smaller girl continues to haunt her. Who is she and why does the toddler’s face look so much like her own? Between her job at the animal shelter, waiting on a proposal from and her boyfriend of three years, and his troubled family, will Ashley ever discover who the girl is?
There’s nothing Kayla Witherspoon wants more than to quit medical school. After two grueling years, it is time she tell her parents the truth—that she desires to be a fashion designer, not a doctor like them. Adding to her fear of imperfection, a woman claims Kayla has a biological sister. She’s gotten along fine as an only child. Why would she need a sibling now?
