Why I Wrote Priceless
I have had people ask me if Annequin is anything like me. I have to be honest to say that elements of her personality are very much me. I put a little of myself into every story I write, just like the characters stem from the personality of those I know. I’m not sure how other authors do this, but to me adding a bit of real life helps to give the characters depths. Annequin has a little of me but she also has a little of how I’d like to be and a little of a ‘what if’. No, the story is not my own life story.
When I started Priceless my first born child was just learning how to walk. We celebrated his first birthday as I hammered out 3/4 of this story on an old Acer laptop. This was pre-internet days, I had never surfed the web yet. I started the book on a ‘what if’ basis. I had one prevailing thought, to show that God’s grace and mercy extends to everybody, no matter what type of sin they are immersed in at the moment.
I wanted to show that God is still there even if you chose a path of destruction, even if you sink down into the mire of sin and despair. God stands there, open invitation to receive the most precious gift. In Priceless the main character grows up in a dysfunctional home, she is tainted before she even reaches adulthood. She turns her back on the church and goes down a path of sin. She feels she’s not worth saving. But the love of God shines through. God uses others to show His grace and mercy. And salvation is offered to all who will accept it. . In Priceless the person God sends is the hero of the story, the man she eventually marries. So it is about true love and a happy ending.

About the book – Priceless – Love’s True Worth:
Have you ever wondered if there was any sin that God’s grace doesn’t cover? Does a person live who has fallen so deeply in the mire of sin that even God’s love and mercy can’t reach? Even when all hope seems lost and you think life is no longer worth living, God’s love shines through…somehow…
He works in mysterious ways, even when we make the conscious choice to deny Him. He wishes for no one to be lost. No one…
Priceless – Love’s True Worth is such a story, a coming of age romance about a young girl faced with almost more than she can handle. Her life leads her to ill choices that lead her down a dark and unworthy path…until she meets him…until he introduces her to the One who can reach down and save her. The question remains, will she accept it? Will she change her ways?
For mature audiences due to subject matter. No graphic descriptions, just situations.

I like books that you can relate to and having an author use bits of real life I thing does give the characters and the story more reality.
