Legacy and Love contains two contemporary romance stories.
The heroine in The Prayer Shawl is conflicted to have feelings stir for a man who seems to have lost his faith.
The heroine in Inheritance hits a low, feeling as though God could never have a purpose for her life. Her love interest takes her totally by surprise.
The main characters in both of these stories weren’t looking for romance.
I just love it when God plunks two unlikely people together and a spark ignites. I’m not talking about the couple instantly engaging in some physical romp. No, God’s style of romance is innocent and thrilling at the same time. I’m talking about those moments when a hand barely brushes an arm, sending chill bumps all over our heroine. I’m speaking of the simple flutter of lashes causing the hero’s pulse to pound.
What about the first time their hands clasp and the hero is worried his hands are sweaty? We chuckle because we get it. What about the moment the hero inches his lips near our heroine? She swallows and wonders if the kiss is really going to happen this time. We cheer her on, hoping against hope she gets her kiss.
There is something so sweet and exciting about those slowly building feelings of love and affection between a man and a woman. That is the romance I love to capture and communicate in my stories.
Now, don’t get me wrong. It’s not all pie in the sky, perfect situation. No, the main characters face real-life struggles and problems that threaten to tear the relationships apart. This is reality.
But, when God’s plan is followed, He can make the best happy endings! That’s my kind of romantical happily ever after.
About Paula: Paula Mowery is a published author, acquisitions editor for Prism Book Group, and speaker. Her first two published works were The Blessing Seer and Be The Blessing from Pelican Book Group. Both are women’s fiction, and their themes have been the topics of speaking engagements. Be The Blessing won the Selah Award in 2014 in the novella category. In November of 2013, her first romance released in the anthology, Brave New Century, from Prism Book Group. This book went to number five on Amazon’s bestseller category, historical Christian romance. Legacy & Love is her first solo romance.

I went to public school through HS followed by 1 yr. of Bible College before getting married and having a family. With my own children I have experienced both good and bad, in public school, private school & homeschooling. It really comes down to, how much the teacher is willing to commit to the child, and how well they bond with the child. As far as the homeschooling, my first year (with my 2 youngest of 5) went very well. The second year we hit some snags, partially including a job change & eventual unemployment for me husband–we found ourselves homeschooling in a tent while ‘commuting from Portland, OR to Seattle WA during the week! Then I was diagnosed w/ breast cancer & underwent chemo, radiation & such, so friends put together a scholarship for my children to return to private school at our church. When I tried to return to homeschooling the 2 younger kids after I finished treatments, they resisted doing their work for me–so back to homeschooling…
